History

1833:
 
Serbian Duke, Milos Obrenovic, signed the decision to grant a pension to the first Serbian pensioner. The date of the decision was October 10, 1833. The pensioner’s name was Ilija Marković and the amount of pension paid was 100 Austrian thaler.
   
1835:
 
The first decision on the survivor pension grant was passed and first to receive it was Karadjordje's widow, Jelena Dj. Petrovic, a resident of Kragujevac. The date of the decision was February 23, 1835 and the amount of pension paid was 500 thaler.
   
1841:
 
Mihailo M. Obrenovic passes a regulation on clerks pension. Two more regulations of clerks pensions were passed in 1861 and 1871
   
1847: Regulation on crafts
   
1850: Nikola Dabar wrote the first Law on pension.
   
1866: Mining law introduced.
   
1895: Rule book of sick and supporting fund created.
   
1898: First voluntary crafts fund created.
   
1921: Regulation on sickness and work accident insurance for employees created.
   
1922: Law on insurance of employees (in which aspects of pensionable-disability protection of the insured and members of their families is further elaborated). Classified as one of the most advanced laws on this subject in Europe.
   
1937: The beginning of implementation of pension protection, by the Law on emloyee ensurance
   
1945: Law on implementation of social insurance in the area of DFJ
   
1947: Law on social insurance of employees, appointees and officers (established state social insurance)
 
 
 
 
1950: Law on social insurance of employees, officers, and their families
   
1952: The government of FNRJ passed a regulation to form funds of public officials, merchants and miners... This regulation led to the foundation of the Office for social insurance in the Republic.
   
1955: The regulation on organization of the Office for social insurance led to the foundation of Federal, Republic and District offices for social insurance.
   
1955: Law on social insurance of employees, officers, and their families.
   
1957: Law on pension insurance.
   
1958: Law on disability insurance.
   
1963: Municipal office for social insurance created.
   
1964: Basic Law on pension insurance.
   
1964: Basic Law on disability insurance.
   
1965: Law on disability and pension insurance of independent craftsmen and independent caterers.
   
1968: The first session of the Assembly of the Republic community of pension and disability insurance of independent craftsmen and caterers.
